Dr. Sergeyev graduated from Kuybyshev Medical Institute (MD) named after D.I. Ulyanov (1985) and completed his internship in surgery there (1986). In 1987, he worked as an attending physician in the neurosurgical department for the army medical corps 78 Internship. Dr. Sergeyev specializes in spinal surgery and neurooncology. He is fully trained in all types of operations on central and peripheral nervous system and spinal orthopedics, including percutaneous and endoscopic techniques.
In the last 5 years, he has authored 18 publications and a thesis titled “Axonogenesis of peripheral nerves in diastases” (2012). He has extensive experience presenting at international conferences. In Russia, he pioneered the implantation of cervical and lumbar discs and using kyphoplasty stent for spine reconstruction. He was also the first doctor in the country who implemented fibrous ring prosthetics with Barricaid implant.
